The “Heartbleed” Internet security issue does not affect Bridgeview Bank Group’s systems.
Bridgeview Bank is aware of the Internet security flaw known as “Heartbleed” in a system called “OpenSSL.” We have analyzed our internal security systems, and the security systems of our vendors, and have concluded that Bridgeview Bank is not at risk of being impacted by the Heartbleed issue. Bridgeview’s Internet banking and mobile banking systems (for both businesses and consumers) do not use the affected versions of OpenSSL, and were completely unaffected by the problem.
As always, Bridgeview Bank takes the security of your personal information very seriously. We recommend changing your passwords on a regular basis, and not using the same password for multiple online accounts.
We will continue to monitor this situation to ensure that all of our systems continue to meet the highest security standards. Visit our Identity Protection and Restoration resources area to learn more about ID protection and steps you can take to secure your identity.
