BRIDGEVIEW BANK UPTOWN OPENS EXPANDED DRIVE-UP FACILITIES
Modern Design Adds Flair to Landmark-Style Original Structure
Offers Easy Access to Customers Off Broadway Avenue

CHICAGO, January 24, 2005 – Bridgeview Bank Group has re-opened its drive-up facilities at its main Uptown location at 4753 North Broadway. The facility, part of the bank’s landmark-style original structure, underwent a top to bottom renovation as part of Bridgeview’s modernization program to upgrade its walk and drive-up banking services at its more than 15 locations across Chicagoland. The drive-up was officially opened by Alderman Mary Ann Smith (48th).

As part of the renovation, the bank reconfigured the original layout of the facility by installing a curb-cut entrance off Broadway Avenue. Customers now easily enter the complex off Broadway, conduct their transactions and exit onto Lawrence Avenue via Clifton Avenue. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, Bridgeview constructed three lanes offering motorists ‘easy in easy out’ convenience to conduct their transactions. Advanced video imaging has been installed enabling customers and bank personnel to visually see one another as they communicate, bringing an additional level of comfort and security to customers. Drive-up services include personal and commercial banking deposits, withdrawals, ATM’s and night depository options.

“We are thrilled to re-introduce our new state-of-the-art drive-up to our customers and to the Uptown community,” stated Suellen Long, president of Bridgeview Bank Uptown. “Not only is our design new, but so too is our infrastructure, meaning our customers have access to one of the most advanced drive-up banking centers in the community.”

According to Long, great care was taken to ensure the new facility complemented Uptown’s original 1920’s Marshall and Fox-designed structure. “This building is one of the last remaining crown jewels in the Uptown community. When we began this project we made a commitment that we would not create an add-on structure that in any way would jeopardize the legacy of the original bank building,” added Long. “We’ve kept our commitment and created a first-class banking structure in the process.” The renovation was the collaborative work of Chicago architects Manske Diekman and Thompson. “Our task was to complement the architectural integrity of the landmark-style existing structure while providing a modern-day, easy-access addition to benefit Bridgeview’s customers and the surrounding Uptown community for years to come. We think we’ve captured these objectives with this design,” stated Larry Diekman, partner of the firm.

Landscaping surrounding the new drive-up facility will begin in the Spring.
