| Bridgeview Bank to Provide Facility to Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District for Hands-On Training and Rescue Courses
CHICAGO AND LINCOLNSHIRE, January 10, 2008 – The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District will have a unique opportunity to conduct a three-day firefighting and rescue training course in commercial space owned by Bridgeview Bank Lincolnshire. The building, formerly Tacos Del Rey, is located at 23250 N. Milwaukee Ave., and sits on a parcel where the bank intends to construct a new full service banking facility.
The fire department will be conducting training exercises in and on the building including interior fire strike, forcible entry techniques, roof ventilation, and breaching interior walls. These techniques are often required for firefighters who become trapped in a building during rescue.
“It’s not often we get a chance to practice our firefighting and rescue techniques in an actual structure,” remarks Fred Kruger, LRFD Fire Chief. “It’s even more unusual for us to practice in a commercial building. We’d like to thank Bridgeview Bank for its generosity in making this structure available to us. This training will go a long way in helping us to continue the best firefighting skills to area residents.”
The Bridgeview Bank building is located just west of Milwaukee Ave. on Olde Half Day Rd. in Lincolnshire – about one half mile north of Rt. 22 fire department. The training will take place on the afternoons of January 14, 15, and 16 (weather permitting).
“We are again thrilled to provide the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District with a facility to conduct very important rescue and firefighting training,” said Mark W. Peterson, President of Business Development, Bridgeview Bank Group. “Bridgeview, through its Banking on the Community program, supports many worthwhile organizations and causes that improve the communities they serve.” Peterson who is a longtime resident of this community said it seemed only fitting to continue supporting the needs of these first responders.
