Online Privacy, Security, Info Gathering, & Online Advertising Policy -

    Updated June, 2015

Bridgeview Bank Group is committed to safeguarding your confidential information and maintaining the security of our online products and services. In addition to this statement, please view our full Privacy Notice, which addresses our general policies for collecting and sharing customer information.

Bridgeview Bank takes account security, identity protection, and customer privacy very seriously. We follow best-practice system design and utilize in-depth risk assessment processes to ensure we are properly protecting all sensitive systems and information. We have routine audits of our security controls and are subject to examination by reputable 3rd party consultants, state, and federal regulators to rigorously test and verify that our policies, processes, procedures and employees all work together to keep our systems safe from cyber attacks.

At Bridgeview Bank, our first priority is protecting your sensitive personal information. We adhere to strict bank-wide security procedures to safeguard your accounts, and we work to proactively detect and prevent fraud. Bridgeview also utilizes advanced Internet banking security technology to ensure your privacy and protect your identity.

    Information Gathering

We obtain information about our clients and website users online when you provide your information to us directly to complete online forms or obtain online services or indirectly as part of the information we collect on our websites. One example of information we collect indirectly is information collected through our internet access logs. When you access our website, your internet address is automatically collected and is placed in our internet access logs. We may also record the URLs of the websites and pages you visit before, during and after your visit to our website, the times and dates of these visits, information about the computer hardware and software you use, and other information that may be available.

We may collect information directly from you in a number of ways, including through the use of cookies. Cookies are small files of information which save and retrieve information about your visit to the website such as how you entered our website, how you navigated through the website, and what information you viewed. The cookies we use identify you merely as a number. We use cookies to record information on customers’ visits and use of our websites in order to administer and improve our websites. We do not use cookies to store or transmit any personally identifiable information.

Temporary “session” cookies are also used to facilitate customer navigation within our website. Session cookies are deleted once you close your internet browser. We may also use “persistent” cookies that are retained on your computer after your visit ends so we can identity your preferences and enhance your next visit to our website.

In addition, cookies help us manage and monitor internet traffic from third-party websites to ours and identify which areas of our website are used most often and for how long. We may provide this type of aggregate information to non-affiliated application service providers that compile statistical or other information for us. This feedback and analysis allows us to continually update our website.

We also collect information directly when you voluntarily submit it to us and offer you the opportunity to sign-up for electronic services or notifications. In addition to our cookies, we may use cookies from advertising partners, transparent GIFs or web beacons to help us gather information about the effectiveness of our advertising. We do not gather personally identifiable information from this use and it does not affect our protection of your information.

You can block cookies by changing the settings on your internet browser or through the use of software programs specifically designed to block cookies. You should be aware that blocking cookies or using certain security software settings might prevent you from logging onto your accounts or limit your online activities. If you employ “do not track” signals while visiting our website, we will not collect information about your visit, nor will any third-party included on our site.

    Online Advertising

You may see advertisements when you use our online services, or visit websites who allow marketing content. These advertisements may be for our own products or services, or for products and services offered by third parties. Which advertisements you see is often determined using the information we or our affiliates, service providers and other companies that we work with have about you, including information about your relationships with us (e.g., types of accounts held, transactional information, location of banking activity). To that end, where permitted by applicable law, we may share with others the information we collect from and about you.

Online behavioral advertising (also known as “OBA” or “interest-based advertising”) refers to the practice of collecting information from a computer or device regarding a visitor’s web-browsing activities across non-affiliated websites over time in order to deliver advertisements that may be of interest to that visitor based on their browsing history. Through OBA, we hope to deliver advertisements that are most likely to be of interest to you using information about your other web-browsing activities (e.g., the web pages you visit, search terms you enter, and the way you move through our online services on your computer or device) or your personal profile (e.g., demographic or location information). Certain companies we work with may set cookies and use related tracking technologies, such as the clear GIFs discussed above, throughout our online services or in our communications to support these OBA efforts. If you do not want your information collected and used by the companies we work with for OBA purposes, you can opt out of this form of OBA by following the instructions in the next section.

Opting Out of Online Behavioral Advertising

Certain Bridgeview Bank Group ads on third-party websites feature an Advertising Options Icon, that when clicked, (i) describes the collection and uses of data gathered at the relevant third-party website and (ii) provides a way for you to opt out of data collection and use by the third parties listed for the purposes of OBA. If you choose to opt out, our service provider will communicate your opt out election to the relevant third-party advertising partners and a cookie will be placed on your browser indicating your decision to opt out. Bear in mind that because cookies are stored by your browser, if you use different browsers on your computer, or multiple computers and devices that have browsers and you do not wish to have cookies collect information for OBA purposes, you will need to opt out of OBA from each browser on each of the computers and devices that you use. Please note that even if you opt out of OBA, you may still receive advertisements from us; they just won’t be customized based on your web-browsing activities on third-party websites.

    Changes to this Policy

Bridgeview Bank Group Policies are subject to change. Please review them periodically. If changes are made, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy will be revised. Any changes to this Policy will become effective when posted unless indicated otherwise.
